Cooking with Grandkids: Lunch on the Run

Rezepte-092-300x224When the grandkids come no one wants to spend long hours in the kitchen. But it is fun to plan simple meals and allow the grandkids to get involved in the process.

Here are some quick and easy lunch ideas that grandkids from toddlers up can manage. So eat healthy, with these quick and tasty lunch on the run ideas.

Green Salad with Goldfish Crackers

Tear fresh leafy greens onto salad plates. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and drizzle with your favourite dressing. Top with crunch goldfish crackers and enjoy. Your youngest grandchildren can do this one all on their own and it will encourage them to eat their healthy greens.

Turkey Wraps

Use whole wheat tortillas. Spread with apricot jam, layer with turkey slices and pepper jack cheese. Top with crispy cooked bacon. Roll, slice and enjoy. Kids can do all but the cutting for a quick and easy lunch.

Nut Butter and Fruit Sandwiches

Peanut butter isn’t the only nut butter to enjoy. Try cashew butter on cinnamon raisin bread. Spread the nut butter on liberally and top with shredded green apples. Or, try walnut butter on whole wheat with banana slices.
