ham soupHere is a quick and easy soup recipe for those cold winter evenings when you don’t have a long time to prepare the evening meal. This colorful soup is made with navy, kidney and black beans and just a few other ingredients. You can prepare and serve in only 35 minutes. Add a crusty bread and a salad and you have a low calorie, heart healthy meal. Each serving is only 350 calories.

 Ingredients

1 16 oz can each of navy beans, kidney beans and black beans, drained.

1 14.5 oz can of stewed tomatoes (undrained)

1 14.5 oz can tomato sauce

1 ¼ cup chicken broth

½ cup diced, cooked ham

1 medium onion, chopped

1 clove garlic

1 t. chili powder

¼ t. pepper

Preparation

Mix all ingredients in a three to four quart pan. Heat 15-20 minutes until slightly thickened. Serve.
