Here we go again… another diet, different recipes, novelty ideas, more diet food ideas, short term results ……but how much common sense is used? Well… here is what works for me: 1) Nothing that changes my routine too much, which means I can stick to it. 2) One – two weeks max to view results and decide whether I wish to continue! 3) Just a few simple rules…. see if you can get some results with Ask Granny’s easy and not too unpleasant weekly regime. Monday. ONLY fruit 3 times a day, choose fruits in season if possible and from your area or country, (apples, kiwis, are boring in summer) Tuesday. Breakfast and Lunch. A choice of boiled eggs, ham, chicken, meat, fish, shell fish, grilled, steamed or roasted. Dinner. Just liquids, soups, hot drinks or juices and not after 8pm. (NO alcohol) Wednesday. Breakfast and Lunch A choice of all types of vegetables, in season, locally grown if possible and steamed , roasted or grilled. Dinner. Just liquids, soups, hot drinks, or juices. (NO alcohol) Thursday. Breakfast and Lunch A choice of boiled eggs, ham, chicken, meat, fish, shell fish, grilled, steamed or roasted Dinner Just liquids, soups, hot drinks, or juices, not after 8pm. (No alcohol) Friday. Breakfast and Lunch Choose any type of vegetables, in season, locally grown if possible and steamed , roasted or grilled. Dinner Just liquids, soups, hot drinks, juices. (No alcohol) IMPORTANT….. 1) No alcohol. 2) Drink green tea in the morning and red tea (Rooibos tea) in the afternoon or evening. 3) If feeling STARVED, nibble on a Ryvita cracker with honey or fat free cheese 4) If feeling WEAK, eat a banana 5) Make a fresh drink twice a week, (I make a lemon drink using 5 squeezed lemons, fructose or Stevia ( a brilliant sugar substitute) with boiled water) or a home made fresh tomato juice. 6) I suffer not being able to drink coffee so I drink coffee substitutes such as malted barley drinks with a teeny- weeny touch of skimmed milk! Try this method for 2 weeks if you can, I believe you will even notice a difference after one week, mind you NO Cheating and keep me posted! Even if you only do “Monday, only fruit day” you will feel better! I was able to lose two and a half pounds after 7 days… and you? Contact you doctor before you try ANY diet. Good luck!
