Art for Health: Children’s Performing and Visual Art Classes
If you live in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area you’ll want to sign your children up for Door County’s wonderful Art for Health classes in January and February. These extremely popular classes are offered free of charge by Ministry Door County Medical Center in the nearby city of Sturgeon. The program is directed by Terry Lundahl of the Dragonfly Agency and former director of the Women’s and Children’s Health Center at Ministry Door County. It is the Medical Center’s belief that experiences in the visual and performing arts are a vibrant part of a healthy child’s life. Art and drama enhance a child’s self-esteem, build the ability to set goals and focus attention, provide stress relief and improve brain development. Involvement in a variety of dramatic and musical experiences builds creativity in children and helps them develop character. Local and regional guest artists provide the leadership for these classes. Workshops include puppetry, writing and performance in skits, songwriting, painting and more. Each class includes jam sessions with local musicians and there are performances at the end of the five week sessions. Workshops are provided for groups aged 4-7 and 8-12. These annual classes fill up quickly. For more information you may contact:
