Are you planning a snow vacation anytime soon? If so, you may enjoy having links to the tracks animals make as they travel through the white stuff and learn how to identify each one. L.L.Bean has a download for a number of animals in the wild from a tiny chipmunk to a huge moose. Environmental Education for Kids offers guidelines for tracking animals and has a little quiz for learners. Watersheds is a blog which has excellent photos of animal tracks and how to identify them and the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources has a similar site complete with a track chart. There are a number of children’s books with excellent text and guidance in identifying animal tracks. One is Tracks in the Snow by Wong Yee.
