If your family doesn’t have a Christmas tradition of going to the theatre, now is the time to begin one.

London and New York theatres set the bar high with their traditional shows such as The Lion King and Wicked, but in addition offer a variety of Holiday special events.

London theatres have such Christmas 2014 offerings as White Christmas, the Musical, The Snowman and Christmas with the Rat Pack. Even better, if you gather a group of eight, ten or twelve these wonderful shows can be seen in matinees or weeknight performances for about half the regular ticket price.

New York theaters have some wonderful holiday choices as well. See the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Disney on Ice Frozen, or How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Other hot shows include The Book of Mormon, The Lion King and The River.

Most larger cities have Christmas specials such as the lighting of their Christmas tree, productions of The Nutcracker, a Singing Christmas Tree, Symphony Evenings and the like. Make it a family holiday tradition—get out and take in a production.

Don’t forget that theater vouchers make a terrific gift for the holidays. When searching the sites be sure to find the special deals tab and look for reduced rates. Some of the sites offer hotel and restaurant search options as well for your trip into the city.
