Summer Music Festivals in the U.K.
If you love music, you’ll be searching for some summer outdoor music venues this season. As always there are lots of choices. If you have rock and roll in your blood you may enjoy taking in the Isle of Wight Festival June 10th-12th. This year some headliners are Kings of Leon, Jeff Beck and Foofighters. On the same weekend you may choose to visit a festival of a different nature. Try the Eden Festival at Raehill Meadows where there are nine stages with various folk and cultural performances. This one is family-friendly. If you prefer your music unplugged, you’ll enjoy the Beverley Festival on June 17th-19th. Beverley is located just north of Hull, near York. Ahab, Barbara Dickson and Paul Carrack are just three of the performers slated for this family oriented festival. If jazz, funk or soul are your cup of tea, try the Mostly Jazz festival held July 1st-3rd in Mosely Park, Birmingham. Booker T is one of the headliners here. And finally for a truly eclectic festival, try Rhythms of the World held in Hitchin, Hertfordshire on July 9-11. There you’ll find a combination of pop, rock, jazz, reggae and classical.
