Here are some of my favourite activity ideas for my 10-year old granddaughter
for when her friends come to play and have sleepovers

Outdoor Activities

  1. Nature Scavenger Hunt: Create a list of items for the kids to find in the yard or park, like a red leaf, a feather, or a smooth stone.
  2. Picnic in the Park: Pack some snacks and drinks, bring a blanket, and enjoy some time in nature.
  3. Obstacle Course: Set up a simple obstacle course using cones, ropes, and other household items.
  4. Water Play: Set up sprinklers, water balloons, or a small kiddie pool for some splashing fun.
  5. Sidewalk Chalk Art: Let the kids draw and create on the pavement.

Indoor Activities

  1. Crafting: Provide materials like paper, glue, scissors, and markers for the kids to create their own art projects.
  2. Baking: Make simple cookies or cupcakes together. Let the kids decorate them.
  3. Story Time: Read a book aloud and act out the story with puppets or stuffed animals.
  4. Building Forts: Use blankets, pillows, and furniture to build cozy forts.
  5. Board Games: Choose age-appropriate board games or puzzles.

Creative Activities

  1. DIY Playdough: Make homemade playdough and let the kids mold and shape their creations.
  2. Dress-Up and Role Play: Provide costumes and props for imaginative play.
  3. Science Experiments: Simple experiments like baking soda and vinegar volcanoes or creating slime.
  4. Music and Dance Party: Play their favorite tunes and have a dance-off.
  5. Painting: Use watercolors, finger paints, or even paint rocks.

Educational Activities

  1. Learning Games: Play educational games that focus on numbers, letters, or shapes.
  2. Gardening: Plant seeds in small pots and teach the kids about growing plants.
